Segni: the pearl of the Lepini Mountains near Valmontone!
Segni stands among the Lepini Mountains approximately 50 km from Rome and a short distance from the large transport links between Rome and Naples.
Immersed in a natural, luxuriant and pleasant environment between the Apennines and the sea and rightly proud of its ancient roots, the town dominates the Sacco Valley from the peak of Pianillo Mountain.
From the town of Segni, the view covers the peaks of the Lepini and Ernici ranges, right over to the nearby verdant hills of Ciociaria and skims over other genuine gems of history and culture that can be easily reached from here: Palestrina, Anagni, Ferentino, Valmontone, Fiuggi, Paliano and many more besides.
The evocative tour around the polygonal (or Cyclopean) walls, where the famous Porta Saracena gate stands, or the vast architectural complex of the Acropolis are the main (but far from the only) tour route within the town that is home to the La Pace Hotel.
As well as the fascinating historic and artistic tours in the ancient town centre, guests can opt for easy walks around Campo di Segni or head towards the Campo di Montelanico. The sportier and braver guests may want to try the path up Lupone Mountain. The peak offers a unique view all the way to Circeo promontory and beaches of Torvaianica.
