Tivoli

The town of Tivoli is situated at the falls of the Aniene river. The whole area had always been an important landmark in ancient times and it still is today. There has always been an abundance of rich water springs in the area that have favoured an important resource. Several villas were built around the thermal waters and fine examples are the Roman Hadrian’s Villa, Villa D’Este that was built in the 1550s and Villa Gregoriana.
It is a town of art, culture and it has two UNESCO World Heritage of Humanity treasures.
